Classcard, or a system that books your whole venue?

Classcard is built for class studios and academies — it schedules teaching beautifully. If your venue is only classes, Classcard may be exactly what you need. But if you also run courts, pitches or coaching, the question is whether a class tool can handle your whole operation. This page is an honest comparison for the operator asking whether to consolidate.

Comparison based on publicly available information, September 2026. Reviewed quarterly — tell us if anything here is out of date.

The honest short version

  1. Classcard is built for teaching. Class scheduling, student progress, attendance, and the education layer — report cards, parent portals, lesson content.
  2. Real Sports is built for a venue. Classes and courts on one calendar, payments settling to your own bank, resources that can't be double-sold.
  3. Pick based on your business shape. If you run only classes, Classcard wins. If you run classes and courts together, one system is simpler than two.

A class manager versus a venue operating system

This isn't a better-or-worse table. A class tool is designed around the teaching; a venue system is designed around the operation. Read it as "which does my business shape need?"

When to consolidate on Real Sports

The moment your operation spans more than one discipline

These are the moments operators tell us they wanted one system instead of two.

01

You run classes and courts together

An academy running alongside court hire, or a multi-sport venue with a teaching programme. When both live in the same operation, running two separate systems means two separate customer lists, two separate reports and manual cross-checking every time a class and a court booking collide on the calendar.

02

You need peak pricing and open-match mechanics

If you price courts differently at peak hours, or sell open matches where each player pays their own share, a class-only tool isn't built for it. Real Sports handles both in the same checkout.

03

You want payments settling to your own bank

A venue's money landing directly in your own gateway — Stripe, Checkout.com or Paymob — rather than into a platform balance, is often the single most concrete difference. Check what your current agreement actually charges.

When to stay on Classcard

If you're a teaching business, not a venue

These are the honest reasons to keep it.

01

You run a single-discipline studio or academy

Dance, music, a single-sport coaching programme. If the product genuinely is the teaching, and your classes do not share space with courts or pitches, Classcard is built for you.

02

Report cards and progress tracking matter

If student transcripts, report cards and a parent portal with lesson content are central to how you work, that is Classcard's home ground. We do not replicate it.

03

You have no multi-resource conflicts

No courts or pitches to book, nothing that needs to sit on the same calendar as your classes. If there's no scheduling conflict to solve, a class tool stays simpler than a venue system.

Migration

Consolidating takes about a week

Whether you're moving from Classcard or running alongside it for a period, this is the sequence.

Day 1–2Setup call

We load your class schedule, court pricing, staff roles and opening hours from your current system.

Day 2–3Data import

Customers, memberships, packages and every booking come across from your current system.

Day 4–5Parallel run

Your team works the new calendar while the old one stays read-only. Nothing is live to members yet.

Day 6–7Go live

Your booking page goes live and payments switch to your own gateway. Old links redirect.

FAQ

Consolidation questions

Is Classcard good for classes?

Yes. Class scheduling, memberships, attendance registers and student progress tracking are exactly what Classcard is built for — they do it cleanly, and we do not replicate the education layer (report cards, parent portals, lesson content sharing). If your business is purely teaching, Classcard is the right tool.

Can we run both classes and court hire on Real Sports?

Yes, and that is the core difference. Every class, coach, court and resource sits on one calendar with nested resources — an 11-a-side pitch sold whole or as three 5s — that cannot be double-sold. One customer record, one balance that spends across courts, classes and coaching.

How do we migrate our classes and memberships?

During onboarding we load your class schedule, memberships and student roster. Real bookings run in parallel on the new system while the old one stays read-only, and you go live when ready — usually a week from start call.

Do you have report cards or student progress tracking?

No. We focus on the operational side — booking, payment and growth — not the teaching side. If report cards and student portals are central to how you work, Classcard stays the right choice.

What's the difference if we only run classes, no courts?

If you run a single-discipline class studio with no courts or pitches, Classcard is likely the better choice — their education tooling, attendance registers and report cards are real strengths we do not replicate. We shine when courts and classes live together.
